The important things

Privacy Policy

What Radio World uses, what stays with you, and how to get in touch.

Updated 29 October 2026Pre-release draft
This is a pre-release draft describing the current app and website. The operator must confirm these policies before the app is released.

About this policy

This policy covers the Radio World app, our station catalog and support services, and this website. The operator and contact details are listed below. Radio World does not require a separate Radio World account to listen.

Your library and iCloud

Favorites, recently played stations and preferences are stored on your Apple device. When private iCloud synchronization is available, this information can sync through your Apple account between your devices. Our station catalog API does not receive your favorites or listening history. Apple processes iCloud account and service information under its own privacy policy.

You can remove favorites in the app and manage the app’s iCloud data through Apple’s storage controls. Removing the app from a device does not necessarily remove information already saved in iCloud. We cannot access or delete your private iCloud library for you.

Catalog requests, broadcasts and artwork

The app requests station information and discovery content from our catalog API. Servers and network providers process technical information such as an IP address, request path and connection details to deliver those requests and maintain the service.

Radio audio streams directly from the broadcaster or its streaming provider. Station logos and song artwork can load directly from third-party hosts. These services receive the network information needed to deliver audio and images, including your IP address. Their privacy practices and regional restrictions apply independently.

Song information and recognition

Radio World can display song titles supplied by a station. When you choose song recognition, the app samples the radio stream and uses Apple’s ShazamKit service to identify a recording. It does not access your microphone or record sounds around you.

Music-catalog and service-link lookups may send a title, artist, recording identifier or selected market to our API and the relevant music provider, including Apple or Spotify. These requests help identify recordings and links; they do not include your private library or Apple account credentials. Opening a provider’s link takes you to that provider’s app or website.

Maps and country preferences

Globe discovery uses Apple Maps and place lookup for the area you explore. A chosen country affects discovery content. This feature does not require access to your device’s location. Apple processes map requests under its own policies.

Support messages and issue reports

If you submit an issue report in the app, we receive your description, category, report reference, the station shown on the form if one is selected, app/build and operating-system versions, platform and playback state. Reports are stored in our private support database and may be delivered to our support email inbox. No audio, listening history, Apple account information or automatic device logs are attached.

The contact page prepares an email in your own mail app. Its form does not submit your message to this website or save it in browser storage. If you send that email, we receive the message, sender address and any other information or attachments you choose to include. Your mail provider also processes that email.

Please avoid including passwords, payment information or other unnecessary sensitive details in a support request.

Website cookies and analytics

This website does not set tracking cookies, run visitor analytics, load advertising scripts or embed third-party media. Its fonts and illustrations are served with the site. The hosting infrastructure still processes connection information needed to deliver pages and diagnose service problems.

The current app does not include a visitor-analytics integration. If our use of analytics or other data processing changes, we will update this policy and obtain any permission required by applicable law before enabling it.

Retention and deletion

Your local library remains on your device until removed through the available app/device controls. Private iCloud information is governed by your Apple account and iCloud settings.

Support reports and email correspondence are not currently deleted on a fixed automatic schedule. You can request deletion of support information we hold by contacting us and providing the report reference or enough information to find the correspondence. We may need to verify a request and retain information where required for security, resolving a dispute or a legal obligation. Hosting and email providers may retain their own operational or backup data under their policies.

The operator must confirm the production logging and support-retention arrangements before the app’s public release. This draft does not promise a retention period that is not yet implemented.

Your choices and rights

You can use basic listening without enabling private iCloud sync, refrain from using song recognition, and choose whether to send support messages. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of personal information held by us. Contact us with a privacy request or concern. Information held independently by Apple, broadcasters or music providers should be addressed through their own privacy controls.

Other providers and policy changes

Apple, broadcasters, artwork hosts, music providers, hosting infrastructure and email providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their services have their own terms and safeguards. See Apple’s Privacy Policy and the applicable broadcaster or provider’s policy before using an external service.

We will update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
